Bovim Ballet presents

ROMEO'S KISS

9–20 June (Theatre)

A perfect blend of star-crossed lovers, ballet and The Beatles.

This exciting new work by Sean Bovim is based on the tragic love story of Romeo and Juliet. Romeo's Kiss will offer audiences an exhilarating and psychological unfolding of a dramatic dance work that explores modern, yet timeless, issues. Bovim is well known for his ability to entertain audiences from all walks of life through the medium of ballet and dance. The audience can expect to see the dancers translate Bovim's abstract vision into an energetic, fast-paced yet poignant production.

Using popular versions of some of the vast Beatles repertoire, this age-old story will be given a fresh and contemporary feel. The audience can expect to hear songs like “All you need is Love”, “I want to hold your hand” and “Hey Jude”, to name just a few. The 17 talented dancers from Bovim Ballet will showcase their enviable balletic technique while being challenged by Bovim's contemporary/modern style of choreography. Bovim states, “This is MTV culture meets So You Think You Can Dance, with beautifully designed love duets and rocking group divertissements.”
