Megan Kahts (soprano) and Albie van Schalkwyk (piano) in recital
The first concert in the 2012 series of the Songmakers’ Guild features talented young South African soprano Megan Kahts who has been resident in Austria for the past few years.
Kahts will be will be accompanied by renowned South African pianist, Albie van Schalkwyk.
One of the highlights of her recital will be the première of a work especially composed for her by Peter Klatzow.
The first half of the programme will consist of lieder by Robert Schumann and his wife Clara, as well as Felix Mendelssohn and his sister Fanny.
The concert will conclude with Leonard Bernstein’s humourous “ I hate music! ”, a child’s take on the world.
