South Cape Children’s Choir

South Cape Children’s Choir

The South Cape Children’s Choir, directed by Jan-Erik Swart, is a proud product of the international children’s choir movement, and is considered one of South Africa’s finest upcoming export products.

Formed in 1996, the choir was crowned ATKV Animato national champions in 2010 and received glowing accolades during their 2011 concert tour of Europe.

The SCCC comprises 90 talented choristers (ages 9-16) auditioned from 12 schools in the picturesque Garden Route region of the Western Cape province of South Africa, who meet every Friday to rehearse an annual repertoire comprising all periods of Western art music, contemporary classical, jazz, light and ethnic African genres.

They have recorded 8 CDs and 1 DVD, have shared the stage with numerous international choirs and artists, and perform on average up to 30 times per year.

Their achievements, concert programme and daily activities are listed on http://www.sccchoir.co.za.
