Aardklop festival goers can save up to 12% off normal ticket prices with a special ticket package for the five biggest classical music events offered at the 2010 festival.

The events are Eight Seasons with violinist Daniel Rowland and the Chamber Orchestra of South Africa, Handel’s Messiah sung A Cappella, the 2 Cellos Recital, Zorada in Orreltaal (organ performance by Zorada Temmingh) and a performance by TOEAC, a Dutch accordion duo.

The 2010 Aardklop National Arts Festival takes place in Potchefstroom in the Northwest Province from 28 September to 2 October.

London-born Daniel Rowland is no stranger to South African audiences. For the festival he collaborates with the Chamber Orchestra of South Africa in combining Vivaldi’s Four Seasons with the work of the same name by Astor Piazzolla.

Handel’s Messiah sung A Cappella was arranged by musical director Janine Neethling with assistance from Jaconell Mouton, Roelof Colyn, Fanie Fouche and Mariette Labuschagne. The soloists are soprano Zanne Stapelberg, mezzo-soprano Minette du Toit-Pearce, tenor Siyabonga Maqungo and bass Rouel Beukes. The production also features the Puk Choir, conducted by Awie van Wyk.

The 2 Cellos Recital features cellists Polina Burdukova and Carel Henn, accompanied by Kerry Wisniewski.

Organist Zorada Temmingh’s concert will feature excerpts from her third CD of church music.

TOEAC, the Duch Accordion Trio, consist of Renée Bekkers en Pieternel Berkers.
