Friends of Orchestral Music presents trumpet wunderkind

10.08.17  The sensational 18 year-old French trumpeter, Lucienne Renaudin Vary, will be the featured artist at a recital presented by the Friends of Orchestral Music (FOM) on 21 August.

Starting at 18h00, she will be accompanied by the accomplished South African pianist, Francois du Toit. Together they will perform works by De Falla, Rossini, Piazzolla and Arlen, while Du Toit will also play Gershwin and Granados.

Ms Renaudin Vary has already won a number of top prizes in European competitions, and made her debut with the London Chamber Orchestra and Vladimir Ashkenazy earlier this year.

She returns to Europe to await the release of her first CD, and perform with Paavo Järvi and the Philharmonia Orchestra in England.

The soiree which includes wine and canapés, will take place at the Table Bay Hotel in the Waterfront. Tickets at R350 (R300 for members of FOM) are available through Artscape Dial-A-Seat on 021 421 7685.
