Trio Gloriosa

Trio Gloriosa was formed in 2010 by three distinguished South African musicians: Camelia Onea (violin); Berthine van Schoor (cello) and Annalien Ball (piano).

The trio has performed numerous concerts together: in honour of Chopin and Schumann Year 2010; in celebration Nino Rota, Franz Liszt and Zoltan Kodaly for the Italian and Hungarian Embassies in in 2011, as well as at the Aardklop Festival and Unisa Music Foundation concert series in 2012.

The trio performs the Great Piano Trios by Mozart, Beethoven,Schubert, Brahms, Dvorak and Rachmaninov. They have been praised for their virtuosity and artistry as well as for their performance of compositions by South African composers.

Trio Gloriosa is named after the indigenous South African wild flower Gloriosa superba, better known as the Flame Lily. It is also found in Zimbabwe and South India.
